The rope course has 34 climbing elements in which each run is 19′ long and 16′ above the ground. A climber will first meet up on the mezzanine in the area of where the safety harnesses are hung. They will view a 4 minute video on the safety protocols of the rope course. Once the video is viewed, the climber will be fitted with a safety harness and helmet.
Staff will check each climber to make sure harness and helmet are fitted correctly. The climber will then be taken over to a ground practicing cable so they can practice putting on and taking off the lobster claws. Once the climber is comfortable with the safety procedures then they can enter the park at one of three entry/exit lanes.
The safety system and called a “smart belay” in which the climber has two lanyards that each attach to a safety cable that runs between each truss system. One lanyard is locked on the safety cable at all times. The climber has the option to decide what route they want to take and are not relied other to block there path.
